A new sports bar opened in the former Diamond Station on Bardstown Road in the Highlands last week. Highlands Bar & Grill is located at 2280 Bardstown Road at the corner of Woodbourne Avenue. The new bar is owned by David Theilen and Cort Muller, who were both longtime patrons of Diamond Station, which closed in October 2022 due to the coronavirus pandemic. "We've been coming to the bar for a long time, and Cort worked here for five or six years in the old Diamond Station," Theilen explained. "When the other business didn't make it, we were in the right place at the right time.
